Both Ethernet and wireless Internet are available in the residence halls. An Ethernet port is available in every bedroom in the residence hall buildings. Guests may access the Ethernet Internet with an Ethernet cord. Ethernet cables are not provided. Wireless Internet is available in all housing facilities. Guests can access the wireless Internet using "Uguest" with a valid email address. For any additional information regarding the internet, please see the Summer Conferences Guest Services Desk located in the Peterson Heritage Center.
Fire and Emergency Procedures
If the fire alarm goes off, exit the building immediately. Meet in the closest parking lot or a pre-determined area selected by the conference leader. The fire department must issue an "ALL CLEAR" before anyone will be allowed to enter the building. Please review the Emergency Procedures Sheet located inside the closet door of each room for further instruction.
In the event of an earthquake: duck, cover and hold. Once it is safe please proceed to Stilwell field.
Visitors are allowed in the residence halls, Guests are responsible for their visitor's actions while at the University of Utah. Visitors must be escorted at all times throughout their visit to the residence halls. As a safety precaution, please do not allow other individuals into the residence hall building when entering. DO NOT prop doors open to allow for visitor access.
Alcohol, Drugs, Smoking, and Fireworks
Alcohol and illegal drugs are NOT allowed anywhere on the University of Utah campus. According to Utah law, smoking is NOT allowed inside any building. Smoking is only permitted 25 feet or more away from any part of a building. There are also designated smoking areas on campus. Fireworks are NOT allowed on any part at the University of Utah campus.
Violation of these policies will result in fines, legal action, and/or immediate eviction.
Outgoing mail may be dropped off at the outgoing mail slot located next to the mailroom window in the Peterson Heritage Center between 6:00 am and midnight daily. Stamps, envelopes and boxes may be purchased at the campus store, located on lower campus.
All University lots require cars to have a parking permit. You can purchase parking permits online through Commuter Services. You will need your license plate number to complete your purchase.

There is an ATM available for use located in the Peterson Heritage Center, situated between the information front desk and mailroom window. Another location is the University Guest House, located in the lobby. A fee may be associated by the vendor if it is not an affiliated bank.
Television and Cable
Cable is available through the residence halls. Television and coaxial cables are not available through Summer Conferences. If a guest has a cable-ready TV, they will only need to hook a coaxial cable to get cable, To access, plug the coaxial cable into both the television and the wall jack.

Student Life Center and Rentals
A selection of board games, lawn games, and some sports equipment are available for use free of charge from Summer Conferences. Please go to the Summer Conferences Guest Services desk for more information
Laundry facilities are located in all housing facilities. The facilities are complimentary. We do not provide detergents.
In apartments, the University of Utah does not provide any kitchen equipment. This includes pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and microwaves.
If a guest is locked out of their room go to the Summer Conferences Guest Services Desk between 6:00 a.m. and midnight. A temporary key and/or swipe card will be issued. For any further questions, please call the Summer Conference Guest Services Desk at (801) 587-0458.
If a guest is locked out between the hours of midnight - 6:00 am, call (801) 587-0458 for assistance. A Summer Conference Coordinator will meet the guest at a pre-determined location to access the locked room. Please allow 30 minutes for staff to arrive from the time of notification.
If the key is permanently lost, a charge of $100 will be assessed for the lock change. If a swipe card is lost, there is a charge of $10 for card replacement.
Convenient transportation is available throughout the Salt Lake City area. The Peterson Heritage Center front desk can provide more information about transportation options. However, the following numbers can also provide additional assistance.
